Maya is a sophomore at Harvard College, concentrating in Government and Economics. She is Originally from Kiryat Ono, Israel, where she trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and acrobatics. She is a three-time gold and three-time silver medalist in the Dance World Cup and has won seven national championships in contemporary, modern, lyrical, and acrobatics. Maya participated in several professional productions, including portraying the swan in the Israeli Stage Orchestra’s production of “Carnival of the Animals,” being one of four dancers in “Swana,” a work by the principal dancer of the Israeli Ballet, and dancing in the movie “Freestyle Festigal”. Before graduating from high school, she was accepted to Kamea Dance Company but decided to pursue an academic pathway. For the past nine years, Maya has been teaching and choreographing. She was ranked amongst the top 6 at the Ministry of Education National Choreography Competition as a high school senior and trained. She also choreographed for dozens of award-winning dancers and taught students with financial difficulties pro bono. In her free time, Maya enjoys watching theater and traveling. Outside of HBC, Maya is a Crimson Editorial editor and participates in musicals.
