Sophia Barakett ‘25

Sophia Barakett is a junior at Harvard concentrating in Sociology with a secondary in Theater, Dance and Media. Sophia was born and raised in New York City where she began the first six years of her ballet training at the School of American Ballet. She then trained at Manhattan Youth Ballet for three years, where she performed roles such as Giselle, Dark Angel in Serenade, and Clara in The Nutcracker. Before her senior year of high school, Sophia moved to Seattle, WA to join the Professional Division at Pacific Northwest Ballet, where she trained under Peter Boal and worked alongside the company for two years. After her first year at Harvard, Sophia was hired as a Company Artist at Boston Ballet for the company's run of Swan Lake. She performed in all eleven shows in the roles of swan corps and mazurka couple. During her time at Harvard, Sophia has also been hired to perform as a guest artist at José Mateo Ballet Theater.
