Jena Thorne ‘26

Jena is a freshman at Tufts University and plans to study Philosophy, Cognitive Sciences, and Child Development. Born and raised in Oakland, CA, she trained at the Oakland Ballet School for 8 years, in addition to attending Summer Intensive Programs at City Ballet SF and American Ballet Theater. She performed leading roles in her school’s productions of The Nutcracker, Coppélia, and Hansel and Gretel, including Rose Queen, Prayer, and Gretel respectively.

During her gap year, Jena taught a kindergarten art class at her local school and worked on a mango farm in Hawaii. She now shares her passion for cooking as a writer for Palmier, Tuft’s culinary publication. This year Jena is thrilled to be back in the studio, and she can’t wait for a wonderful season dancing with HBC!
